I hang my clothes in 'that room' which is an alcove off the bathroom.
We have cupboards and wardrobes and walk in wardrobes and rooms.
We have no other options.
So an armoire (sp?) is a cupboard or a wardrobe.
We of course had water closets.
And a certain number of rules, too tangled to follow, about the correct word to use.
