> One of the best things about living in the USA is that everyone works 38-40 hours, which is considered full-time employment, and that we get all major holidays off. Isn't it dandy?

lol. yeah, in nz we have a little something called 'labour day' in celebration of... precisely that (minus the 'living in the USA' part)

;-)

> I don't think many universities will cancel classes on columbus day.

Oh. They don't have public holiday's off?

> At anyrate, i don't have classes this semester, so for me, any day of the week starts with me taking a walk or catchng a ride to a cafe or library, doing some work on my computer until I get sick of myslf. then I go to my office. maybe I have a meeting, or I go see a lecture or do a reception for fancy dissertation fellows or eat lunch with a buddy, or something. Then I go back home when I'm "done" whatever that means.

lol. yeah, i try to make work in time for morning tea at 10.30. that goes for 1/2 an hour to 1 hour... then check emails and stuff then lunch at 12.30. then afternoon tea at 3.30 and seminars on tuesdays and thursdays and reading groups distributed through the week at regular times... i've been a bit slack with reading groups. i'm still trying to find my vibe for work. i've never been one to work at work. unless i have a deadline and i go in in the evening when everyone else isn't there. but... i need to get into it. i've got deadlines for seminars and papers between now and the end of the year. i was going to work at home today but i started surfing... and winding myself up... and surfing... then drinking... then posting... sigh. tomorrow tomorrow... missed a seminar today. poorly done :-( but on the upside: no teaching no tutoring no working just MY stuff. why can't i get into it? i'm supposedly passionate about it. you know... since i've discovered babble... i think i've found something of a virtual life. before i had a virtual life philosophy WAS my life. now it is... hard. hard to get into it. that is really very bad. really very...

> I'm sorry we didn't get to hang out. I'm increasing my seroquel dose by 25 mg every day, and the adjustment is pretty soporific... *yawn*

yeah. seroquel worked great for me (well as great as a med is going to) for quite some time. i hope it works out for you.

not sure when our next official holiday is... i had one today. does that count?
