What works for me is: 4 Ibuprofen and a cup of coffee. Caffeine shrinks the blood vessels in your brain (or some scientific thing like that). It really helps.
I have headaches all the time too. I learned that hand pressure point thing in high school, and it *really* works. It feels as if all the pressure and pain just drains out of your head. I wasn't aware though that if you did it for 5 minutes the headache would go away. I thought it was a temporary reprieve that worked only while putting on the pressure. I'll have to try that.
These days my headaches seem to be caused by stress and clenching my jaw. I've tried taking Xanax to try to prevent them, but it doesn't. I take so much Ibuprofen everyday that I'm sure to become some sort of statistic for the bad things it can do to you. When I was in my teens, my period would cause such pain that it made me throw up for two days straight. That's when I discovered 8 Ibuprofen dulled it a bit. I would sometimes take twenty or more in a day. But I'm babbling now (no pun intended) so I'll stop.
