> It sounds to me like you need some fun:
Yep. I do need some fun just for me. The godkid fun is good but tiring and not replenishing of my needs.
> Get an ice cream cone
will do this weekend
> Blow bubbles
always! Have multiple bubble thingies for all the kids I take care of. I'm a bubbie (nickname from the smaller kids) wonder. I can even blow a square bubble! Nifty, eh?
> Swing on swings (the big metal sets in the park with the long chains)
Yep. Haven't done that in about two months. Have to work out employment schedule for school semester so see if I am going to be able to work with same kids who live near park with bitchin' swings and slides. Looks out over the ocean too. Life is rough for some I guess.
> See if you can get a pebble to skip on the water
just did that out in front of ma's house back in July while walking the neighbour's dog. Lots of flat stones and when the boats are in for the evening the water was like a pond and I got some good skips in. Reminded me of being little and skipping rocks at a lake with my dad.
> Sit on the floor and play solitaire
Howdya know I just got a bunch of cards? Freaky!
> Skip around the house
gets dog riled up when I move about the house quickly. 76 lbs. is a bit large to rile. ; )
> Play Jacks
been years. Have bouncy balls but no jacks. Will hit store this weekend for a set.
> Find a sprinkler in the neighborhood and run through it
did that for past couple of weeks with godkids in their back yard since it is so dang hot over where they live.
> Draw a scribble on a piece of paper and make it into a picture (crayons are best - they smell good)
I might possibly single handedly support Binney and Smith with all the Crayola products I own. I'm a bit of a crayon freak. It is a medium that works so well in many different ways. I'm currently using shavings of the crayons on some thick raggy oatmeal paper and melting the shavings onto the drawings (bunch o' mixed media)and seeing what turns up.
> Go to the library and read picture books for an hour
Maybe next week I'll hit up the ol library and do some needed research after reading some comforting pic. books.
> These things are easier if you can find someone to do them with you, but all of them work if you are alone. I'm going away for the weekend, but next week if you want, you can choose one and you do it there and I'll do it here and then we can talk about it.
> The hardest part is getting started - it gets easier from then on.Yeah, damn that motivation thing and depression. Ugh. Thanks for the thoughtful suggestions fallsfall. I appreciate it.
