Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
It's form of therapy where, it sounds like more compassion is given the individual, than in CBT. You 're-learn' or 'learn for the first time', how to feel good about yourself, after trauma. It is especially good for peeps w/ borderline personality disorder or hx of suicide attempts. You are allowed to have your feelings and you are validated, but the issues of trauma are not spoken of. Instead, you learn skills to treat your feelings so that you will not act upon them in a bad way. I think it's really good therapy. I wasn't able to finish (can take nearly a year) becuz' I had to move. I don't know if I'd like CBT. Wonder about REM, rapid eye movement. Not sure but think it is a 'distracting from thoughts technique'.
