it's interesting how there are these notions... and it's almost like they come as a package deal (even though i don't know what it is that they have in common such that they should come as a package deal.
the problem of consciousness.
if you are able to grasp the hard problem of consciousness. many people seem genuinely not able to grasp the hard problem of consciousness. they think that there is no categorical problem or whatever that is left or remaining as incremental progress on the easy problems...
intrinsic value.
the notion that the non-conscious world might have intrinsic (not merely instrumental) value. maybe this is tied up in an.. appreciation?? of some kind of pan-psychism about inanimate things... not sure...
morality.
doing the right thing because it is the right thing for the right reasons. an appreciation of more and more and more and more and ALL things considered.
there's more...
maybe it is the traditional philosophical problems / problematic concepts. i don't know.
health / flourishing.
the good of the person.
that the laws are a tool an instrument to be played in the interests or service of justice.
but many people don't seem able to grasp this notion of justice. consciousness. morality. flourishing / health.
i don't know what it is.
they tend to come as a package.
which is why people think it may well have something to do with higher cognitive capacity.
