The Australian, Mamdou Habib, was rendered to Egypt and is currently taking legal action against the Australian Government.
Perhaps he was lucky to get out alive? And then there are unlikely nations who may be able to help, maybe still, like Syria and Uzbekistan.
>He alleges, for example, that senior officials pushed for a plea bargain in March 2007 for Australian David Hicks, allowing him to serve a nine-month sentence in his native country for aiding the Taliban.>Davis said the sentence was too lenient and was orchestrated to help Australian Prime Minister John Howard, who was under criticism domestically for his support of President Bush and U.S. policies.
Well, yes. This was apparent at the time.
Mr Howard, en route to the USA to receive the Irving Kristol award from the American Enterprise Institute, is currently in Nigeria.
I'm curious as to why he is there.
Something to do with energy perhaps?
Having a look around the Niger Delta?
