I have written little about politics lately, ever since I realized that in fact the FDA was never so well funded and salubrious (the recall of 143 million pounds of beef this week has created a temporary scarcity here that has actually whetted my appetite for the real, FDA-approved bovine product, once the FDA's Acting Assistant Director clears some for my local supermarket).
But this story was too good. Last year Col. Morris Davis had written an extraordinary paean to Guanatanomo, "The Guantanomo I Know," in my local newspaper:
