I usually really like your posts verne. Even the PWDs.
But I'm not sure the male/female relationship, as portrayed in the movies at least, is necessarily sexist.
Have you ever seen to tigers mating? It is a nasty, brutish affair with the male being bashed around quite a lot.
In fact, the female will often roll on her back, gently loll her head and pant only to spring to a full on assault as the male approaches.
He gets mad, then somewhat confused, forgets what happened - and then suffers the same abuse five minutes later.
In the end, the female finally relents - I think out of boredom - and they will mate up to 20 times in one day.
The novice keeper always asks - why does she attack him so, isn't she the one in heat?
Ah yes, but it is nature's way of selecting for the strongest males. If he can withstand her assault, then the strongest cubs will be hers.
It's dating, verne, perhaps the pinnacle of "survival of the fittest"
