Question about sponge cake and chiffon cake

I guess I should know the answer to this, but I don't. Do sponge cake and chiffon cake need to be refrigerated? How long will they stay fresh if I don't refrigerate them? If refrigeration is not necessary, will refrigerating the cakes spoil them?
