whoa.
i have a news-aversion, too. i had NO CLUE that there were other people like me. I thought i was just being a b*tch by not keeping in tune with world news. i look online for news about once a week or so, and let users on IRC and instant messenger to screen the "good stuff" for me.
I think OP is totally right... pick and choose your news sources. and your husband's really good for warning you and stuff.
i just had to express my relief. i have no magic words, but it's nice not to be alone. (as always).
