I'm so sorry for your loss. We do love our pets. I'm glad you're going to have room for a pond at the new house.

I posted this on Grief last week but got no response so will tell you guys. I have four indoor cats. I was feeding four strays. One of them my granddaughter named "Loveheart". She was the prettiest tortoise shell....sweet, loving and met my truck every day when I drove up. I tried to integrate her with my indoor pets but she hated being in the house. She became very stressed and I knew it wasn't going to work now. So I decided that when I move back to the ranch, I would take her with us. Last Tuesday when I came home, her body was lying in my front yard. I was devestated. I thought of all the things I should have done. I've second guessed it over and over. I miss her so much. I haven't told my granddaughter because her cat died three weeks ago and she still cries about Spook. She is four.

Loveheart was the sweetest cat that I've ever met. (In the meantime, a man next door trapped all of the other strays, which were causing no trouble whatsoever, and took them to the shelter and had them put to sleep!! I fed them and they all hung out with three houses of us. None were having kittens....now our mouse population will skyrocket!)

I'm sorry about all of our losses. Animals are my main companions so I know how you feel. Pat
