Although i'm a believer in being as upfront as possible, there have been Many Many Many times that i just want to be left alone. and don't want to be even a little social (to hard sometimes...you know) So if you can't be upfront and just say you don't want to go with them then here are a few oldies but goodies.
*work or school is an easy excuse for me (use the school/homework one alot-go to go to the library and study)
*However, are any of them staying with you? you can use the hostess excuse (you need to do some clean-up before they come over that evening?) or prepare food, going to the grocery store...needing to stay home and prepare a meal?
*What about a sick friend that you promised you'd go and visit for an hour and it just happens to be when they are leaving to go but you'll catch up with them for lunch (but you better have another one in for the afternoon otherwise you'll get roped in there...)
*For the evening, you are just getting over a sinus infection/or stomach virus and still taking antibiotics that make you really sleepy so you will probably go to bed early.
*just general getting out of the house...you are on this fitness kick and have a strict regimine of going out walking for at least an hour (your choice of evening or morning)-this is long enough for them to plan their day and get going. though be cautious they may "hold their plans to wait for you..."
