If I could have anything in the world, I would have EVERY SINGLE PERSON on this earth have compassion for every other person.
I think that would help solve a lot of our problems... The definition (good lord! I used the spell check and my computer didn't freeze!! Yahoo!)
*: sympathetic consciousness of others' distress together with a DESIRE TO ALLEVIATE IT
I never realized how unsympathetic people are to each other's pains until I started listening to my boyfriend and other friends talk. My boyfriend would often say "That person (talking about a homeless man) needs to get a job." It broke my heart. I explained to him (who comes from a rather hmmmmmm.... privileged upbringing??? to say the least) that sometimes people have hard times, ect. He doesn't make comments like that anymore. I have another friend who always thinks "people" are out to get her, ect. For crying out loud, she's rude to everyone including telemarketers and she is one!!!
I just think that if everyone had compassion for eachother, we could all work together to solve the problems we have. We could find new medications and they wouldn't be so expensive. We could feed eachother.
I just wish that no one ever got hurt. That somehow we could stop world hunger, nuclear bombs, wars, greedy politicians and tyrants, little kids form falling off of their bikes even.... Oh, people say I'm a dreamer.. I just don't want anyone anywhere to ever hurt again. Not even a paper cut.... Is this possible?? And I only want to hear "YES" answers. Don't ruin my dream...
