> Jai, you are new to Babble and new to forums, right? Like anyplace new there can be a honeymoon phase where it all seems wonderful and perfect, then something happens and you get disillusioned. I have gone through that here, and with new jobs, new relationships, lots of places. It's difficult to adjust your expectations from your rose-colored view down towards reality.

> I found for myself that the only way to get over my pattern of idealizing and chasing people was to stop giving in to the impulse to chase them. I treated it sort of like an addiction or compulsion. Whenever I was acting from that desperate need to pursue the 'object', I had to stop myself. I needed a lot of support from my therapist to do this.
<well if you have any helpful hints...I have fallen into the same rut.
Thanks
