Lots of research shows that our memory is prone to filling in 'gaps' with plausible stories. And many times those plausible stories get remembered so many times that they seem real.
I think you have a healthy attitude towards the memories that may surface during hypnosis. Treat them as dreams. How do they affect you, and make you feel? Do they suggest any solution to a conflict that you have been working on? Can they help you move on?
If these sessions become too intense, i.e. they cause you to re-experience something intense that you are not prepared to handle, please try to remember that these sessions are to HELP you, not to inflict further trauma. It will be good to talk about this stuff with the hypnotist, T (when s/he comes back) and also your pdoc. pdoc may give you an interesting perspective. Don't worry about whether the memories are real or not. Just think about how they affect your functioning today, and in the future.
