Hurricanes

Goodmorning Jake

How has this series of hurricanes affected the arguments and the general mood about climate change, US dependance on fossil fuel imports from the Persian Gulf, and anything else?

The US only ignores those parts of the third world that contain no oil. I've almost finished "Blood and Oil" (Michael Klare). It's quite a moderate book in one way, and worrying enough in another. Makes sense of recent events. There'll be some kind of upheaval when price goes up and supply becomes more contested.

I read though that Ken deLay (SP?) was to surrender, if that's the right word, in Austin. Maybe too, Bush is a lame duck now?

All the best, Declan
