Torture, like slavery, is one of those practices that has received international condemnation and in my view has been decided by the world community and historians a long time ago to be unacceptable. And the US has initiated and signed accords which oppose it. Should we condemn those that do it, I think yes. Should we argue about it's permissiblity, I think no. What I find absolutely outrageous is that NOW we are suddenly discussing the rightness of torture. Yes, I do feel this issue IS BLACK AND WHITE. If it's not, then I am truly worried about the future of this country.
