Redirects do seem, at times, to be the death threat to a thread. I'm not sure exactly why - it could be in part due to a poster "living" on one board and rarely going to the redirect board, so the posters who "live" on the redirect board don't respond. Some folks are all over all the boards and some stick to few. There is some familiarity and comfort that builds between the groups. I don't think it's meant as a slight but it does happen.
