Do you think that practicing on the board to ignore really ignorant or antaginizing posts could be related to a good thing to learn "in real life"?
There is no way to change such a person, why try?
I think it would save one a lot of aggrevation in life (keep one more focused on good stuff).A few months ago a guy said a really bigoted statement to me. Instead of arguing with him (because I knew it wasn't going to help), I asked him to please never mention such things around me again. So I didn't really ignore him, but I saved myself a lot of energy. He wasn't going to change no matter what I said. The best I could do was control it around me. If I start to read an off-the-wall post, I don't even finish it.
I have enough relationship problems with the people that I like!
