I gained 45 lbs on Effexor and quit gaining right after I stopped taking it. I even lost some of the weight w/o dieting (maybe 10 lbs over a 12 month period). Then I went on a low carb diet and pretty quickly took of the balance of what I had put on. Hope this helps.
