Will weight-gain fall-off now I've stopped Effexor

I have gained around 25lbs over 14months taking 37.5mg three times a day.
I am now tapering off this and I'm hoping the weight will fall-off without exercise and diet, as I never before have had to watch my weight!
I walk around 2 miles about 4 times a week, and found even this won't shift the weight I've gained, so now I've stopped taking Effexor will I be able to return to my original weight easily?
PLEASE I am really worried about this!
