Hey I was just sitting here feeling suicidal because of my medical situation. And here you're all nice to me -- aw shucks, guess I'll have to put it off for a while.

> Hey I was just sitting here feeling suicidal because of my medical situation. And here you're all nice to me -- aw shucks,
> guess I'll have to put it off for a while. There are too many books to read!
I just finished David Sedaris' "Me Talk Pretty One Day." Like him? Funny book. I also read that detective book by Janet SomethingRussian, "Hard Eight," and I read a bunch of old stuff on my bookshelf, and I am now reading "Odd Girl Out" about girls' aggression, as well as a Jane Hamilton book I found on my bookshelf.
And there's a lot of music to hear right now, too. So put on your Righteous Babe "Car Tires and Chicken Wire" baseball cap (what?! you don't HAVE one?!), and go out for your four-mile race walk. It's 6:40, and that's where I'm headed.
The fourteen-year-old with the gun that held me up in the park a few weeks ago was just charged with a second robbery (it happened before mine). Unfortunately, the victims of the other five robberies can't identify him from photos (all were 90% sure, not 100%), so he is on home detention. The thought that he's at home and not in juvenile detention really scares me, but I can't do anything about it. My life is too precious.
And so is yours. What are your medical conditions? Maybe I can help. I am a hypochondriac!

Don't believe beardy - she's no hypochondriac but senstivie to her body sensations. But like a good hypochondriac, she's knowledgable about all sorts of things.
Even though I post little now, I wanted to let you know that I like your sharp mind too even if it is feeling marshmallowy to you lately. I believe it will get better though it may take time. Be patient, & I bet over the months, you'll see it come back. Keep it as busy & active as possible, even if it feels like you're straining it. Gotta keep it at its best till it returns full force. Good luck - there's a bunch of us rooting for you.

>LOL. No I _don't_ think I have any Ani-inspired clothing, tho' I do have a pair of Old Navy men's camouflage pants that are cut off and fraying on the bottom.
And I _did_ join a gym this week. I'm feelin' a lot better doing it. I took a pilates class and two aqua-aerobics classes this week. My gf and I got a couple membership, so she can take karate and do weightlifting. (Get the division of labor here?)
Are you working out at 6:40 in the MORNING??? We've tried going in the morning, but we're pathetic. We've gone after work so far, but I'm hoping we can get up in the morning to do it because I think we're (okay, I admit, I think _she's_ ) more likely to stick to it.
And you're right; whenever I think about more things I could do, I think about good music and happy days like today. I also think about my healthy days; I would really like to use the energy on those days to create knowledge that would be useful to the world. I'm starting to take notes about when I feel suicidal so I can figure out what's triggering that feeling, and avoid those situations. I haven't thought about it at all today, which is great for me lately. I think it's 'cause 1) I'm not working today; 2) I spent time with a great friend 3)I hung out in a lesbian coffees shop listening to great music, and 4)It rained! after a dry summer, the sky darkened suddenly and opened up sheets of rain. it was beautiful!
I'm glad your robber was found. Hopefully he can be rehabilitated; it's sad to see a kid turn to harming others. I hope you're feeling safer.

The studies (you know, "they") say you are more likely to stick with an exercise regime if you do it in the morning. It's 6:40 right now, and I'm going at 7:30 today. It's usually 7:00 or 7:30, which is absolutely perfect, as the heat's not killer. You live in New York, don't you? I'm in Baltimore, where it's about the same temps but more humid. Lovely.
I'm glad you had such a happy day yesterday. I wish you many more. And congrats on your gym membership!

Funny, but I think (I may be wrong) hypochondria and hyper body awareness amount to about the same thing! My dad is a full-fledged one, but he's also HAD everything! I made him a t-shirt for one of his birthdays. It had a caduceus on the front, sort of like a band logo, with "I HAD THAT" and "World Tour" on it. On the back was an alphabetical list of all the illnesses he's ever had, so it looked like the cities where I HAD THAT was playing. It was very funny. Now I have a few to add to the list, so I'll have to do it again! (And maybe make one for myself?)

and, due to the high education rate of everyone, lots of jobs here require a master's degree (to get hired) that elsewhere requires a bachelor's.
But, living near the lakes and among the midwest intelligentsia is fun. . .
