Because of the possibility of elective surgery, I decided (with my Pdoc's supervision) to wean from nardil (30mg) after 20 years. I was taking Nardil for panic disorder. I did a several week wean and 2 week washout. I felt very ill through the entire process. I then tried Effexor, but couldn't take the GI side effects. I'm now on Lexapro. The unexpexted Nardil withdraw symptom was a secondary hypertension. This has continued now into my 6th week off Nardil. My regular physician had to put me on Atenolol 50mg to get it under control. Has anyone ever experienced this or know how long it may last?
