If you reduce the dosage too rapidly, you might experience something known as "REM rebound". You may have noticed a cessation of dreaming while on Nardil. Nardil tends to suppress the REM stage of sleep, the stage in which most dreams occur. If this has been your experience, then you might find yourself having extremely vivid and long-lasting dreams. You might even experience hypnogogia (dreaming before falling asleep) or hypnopompia (a persistent dreaming while beginning to awake). I also experienced some brain zaps, similar to that which occurs with SRI withdrawal. Perhaps some anxiety and tremulousness, I can't remember.

I think it makes sense to try and taper it over the course of a week or two if you have that luxury.
