weird head feelings on trying to reduce Lexapro

Posted by JenStar on January 10, 2006, at 23:36:33 [reposted on January 12, 2006, at 0:13:05 | original URL]

hi all,
I'm currently cutting back from 20 mg/day of Lexapro. I'm doing it slowly, and I've taken/come off of Lexapro before without issue.

This time, as I'm tapering off, I'm getting these weird "head rush" kind of feelings. it's hard to describe. It's sort of like my head's in one place, and as my body moves, it stays back, then pops back into place, catching up like a helium balloon on a string. That's how it FEELS, anyway!

It's not really a dizziness exactly. It's more like a "not really here" feeling. Maybe a bit of dizziness.

I kind of hate this. I know it will pass, but I hate it. I hate realizing that this drug really *does* something to my brain, and that it's doing something weird right now, as I type. I was sort of hoping that the drug was a complete placebo, and any effects/SE's were all induced by me.

Anyway...has anyone experienced this head rush thing? Any comments?

thanks!
JenStar
