> I have been taking 150mg of Effexor for 6 years.

> I have missed many pills in the past (prescription ran out) and on the weekends I tend to forget to take my pill until later in the day. I am all too familiar with all of the horrible stuff that happens when I miss a pill. If I forget to take my pill until the afternoon, my day is completely ruined.

> Lately I have been seriously considering going off Effexor, but my doctor seems to think it's a miracle drug. When I told her about how sick I get when I miss a pill, do you know what she said? She said 'don't miss a pill then!'. Gee, how helpful. I don't know if my doctor is going to support me going off the drug, but I am too damn scared to do it myself.

> I feel better that I am not alone, but all I have been reading is that it takes forever to be rid of all of the withdrawal symptoms! I know for a fact that I am not going to be one of the lucky ones - and that no matter how I do this, it is going to suck. I feel like I'm addicted to crack! I swear this stuff is not any better!

> I will not be able to survive months of withdrawal! I think I am being scared into staying on this horrible medication!I took my last effexor june 20 this year withdrawal was the worst after three weeks in bed most of time I went on omega3 vit e and mood
enhancer from health food that is all natural
I now feel like a new person but it seemed like an eternity. I went cold turkey and it was hell
good luck
I believe you have to be strong to go off it because I am a strong person but was so close to going back on it the first 3 weeks
