Social skills

I have been described as having very poor social skills by my pdoc but nobody has explained exactly what they are. I've tried googling but get vague/generalised answers. Can anyone help?
Yet inside there is this perpetual nagging doubt;
the feeling we are possessed by a 'subtle lack of togetherness'
