Those that hurt the most help the most. About going home....
i bought the house i grew up in so long ago
i looked around and even outside nothing had changed
Furniture bar stools refrigerator beds, the same
I went to my bedroom, opened the window
Laid down on my twin bed and listened to football practice
KEYS on my transistor radio, Motown and the rest
Funny how good the music sounded on that radio
Outside june bugs, crickets, and lightening bugs
china berry tree, clothesline, the shed where i smoked
i thought, life was so simple then, but it wasn't
Anytime that you have three or more people, it's difficult
Small town where everyone knows when you f*rt
and even when you're about to
It's too quiet I turn the air conditioner on
My stepfather's car pulls into the carport, I'm home.there is no rest for the messenger until the message is delivered.
