Well, we have a beagle, what's more a male beagle, and now he is 8. We were coming through customs which, in our white bread country, are the best in the world. There was a beagle in a beautiful red coat. For years our young daughter begged for one, and after some years we did do that. I have grown to love him. But we live together here (I mean me and my wife and our beagle) and don't need to go out much. The other day he had a fit. We don't know what it was. Naturally we thought that this was it. But it wasn't. There is something about our satisfaction of needs and entitlement culture that really bugs me. Here he comes...panting away. He has been such a nuisance but it has turned out really well. We tried to give him away once but he walked over their fences.
