I have been fired from two jobs because of my disability.
The first? I got an ounce of flesh from them. They had a written disciplinary procedure and clearly violated it. Still, I had no physical evidence it was due to my disability. The lawyer I worked with specialized in wrongful work dismissals. He shared a story of a seminar of 100 lawyers on disability law. The moderator asked at the beginning for anyone who had actually won a disability case to stand. Out of a crowd of 100 specialists in that area of law, ONE person stood. I took his advice and settled out of court rather than push for damages.
The second? They did try to help me. They did try to accommodate my needs. In the end, they still fired me because of my disability, but they covered their bases well.
I'm not sure that a future employer could find out much from a credit report ... any sort of testing or agency has to have privacy protections for you, even if it is in-house. I worked for Lehman Brothers before they disintegrated and had to go through drug testing. One of my meds came through the screening as an opiate. It was handled discreetly and professionally by those in the company that did such things, and my boss was none the wiser. Then again, Lehman was a pretty huge megacorp at the time .... For a few months after that ....
Great wits are sure to madness near allied,
And thin partitions do their bounds divide.
