I think what the U.S. needs is a president, and not another four months of an electoral campaign with attendant political paralysis in Congress. Not many would be happy with me to learn that I think the Bush tax cuts should be allowed to expire in their entirety. Refinements to revenue collection can then be made according to the economic realities of today and likelihoods of tomorrow, and not the economic bliss of the Clinton years.
