LOL! I find these situations very funny, too. Now there are four people involved in the so called fix!

Your dad should just spring for a plummer before the leak gets worse. But maybe he would rather not part with any money unless he absolutely has to? That generation is sooo frugal. :)

I hope you guys have water soon and it's not too expensive!
