Congratulations Deneb! I'm really happy for you. What I thought also is that you can now take courses you want without being pressured too much. You can also look at courses outside your major, like maybe biology or biochemistry or neuroscience or something like that. You don't have to get a medical degree to work in areas like neuroscience or neurobiology. We have a real lack of understanding of the deep brain structures responsible for thinking and emotion, especially as it relates to mental illness. You could look at a graduate degree in these fields, heck with your experience of depression and anxiety you would have a great deal of insight that most researchers would not. I think with your passion for science and helping others you could do a lot of good in these fields.
Sometimes we stumble onto a path that we weren't looking for and find it's the right one.
