Hi 10derheart! I have a military question for you.
I received discharge papers a few days ago from the AF reserves. I was medically disqualified; I could have stayed in if I wanted to, per my doctors there, but couldn't handle it anymore with my anxiety issues with school and all - so i quit going since last August. The paper said I'd receive an honorable discharge...but I thought a medical discharge was considered other-than-honorable? you know you can't trust the military in terms of personnel issues-you always have to look out for yourself or risk being screwed.
But why would I get a 'discharge' from reserve duty? I had already gotten a DD214 with an honorable discharge from active duty served. I didn't know they had formal discharges for the reserves. The 'memo' says honorable discharge will be granted, but i don't know if i trust it. I was supposed to sign and return it w/in 24 hours. I received it via certified mail last week, but didn't open it until tonight. I just felt I couldn't deal with anything regarding the military right now.
So, I guessed maybe you were in the medical field and thought you might know (not that things don't change in the military by the minute)? I am not up for searching through 1000s of pages of personnel regulations.
Thanks :-)
