The Cat Stroll

Posted by fayeroe on February 27, 2009, at 14:55:51

Anyone familiar with it?

You hear a knock at the door. Upon opening it you see your cat standing there. Graciously stepping back, you await his/her entrance.

First the cat's tail raises in a warm greeting for you. You're feeling positive that this visit is going to go well.
Then the cat glances over his/her shoulder at something that only he/she can see.
You wait politely.
Then the chin is thrust ever so slightly forward and you are led to believe that a grand entry is anticipated.
The chin tucks back under and the cat sits down on it's butt and looks around it's surroundings.
You wait patiently.
The cat stands up and stretches (always good to work those kinks out) and moves ever so slightly towards the door opening.
You start breathing faster. The cat is coming in!
He/she feints..backs up and comes forward.
You're patiently becoming pissed.
The chin leads and rubs up against the trim outside the door.
The cat enters the house and says "meow" in that little breathless way that could be an apology or it could just be "thanks, fool, for holding the door".
