In reply to BOOKS/anyone have suggestions for a good novel?, posted by sissy35 on January 12, 2009, at 14:26:31
I love the Adam Hall "Quiller" books.
Quiller is a spy. They're really excellent books. 2 times in my life I've written to an author care of the publisher. Adam Hall was one of them. It was a "please - MORE, MORE" letter.
I didn't get a reply, but he did write more :-)
I also like The Brother Cadfael books by Ellis Peters. There's always a mystery that he solves.

PS - I also LOVED the 3 books by Sandra Gulland about Josephine (as in Napoleon Bonaparte's Josephine). The first is "The Many Lives & Secret Sorrows of Josephine B."
I could hardly put them down. The second is "Tales of Passion, Tales of Woe"" & I can't remember exactly the name of the last. Something about 'the last great dance'.
