Have they done bloodwork to rule out organic causes?
I can't say I've ever had that particular problem, other than from boredom or stress on the part of my dogs. But that's usually general not specific to food. I've only ever had two that were obese, and their love of food never dramatically changed.
What does your vet say? I suppose there could be some damage to the hunger control center of the brain. Didn't they do studies in mice?
