> I asked them at the end of the interview if there was anything they thought I was lacking to do the job, and they said while my design skills were exceptional, they were looking for someone with more production experience, which is funny because I have way more production experience than design. Of course I tried to explain this, but they seemed to already have their minds made up.

~ ~ ~ Maybe it's one of those cases where various people are involved in making the decision & perhaps someone 'heard' what you explained regarding production experience, then said afterwards, "You know, she's really good at such & such & after all, she WAS telling us that...." etc.

> The questions they asked over and over were about how I would handle certain situations when multiple jobs were going on and I was interrupted to handle something else.

~ ~ TC - it sounds to me as though they were giving you specific examples; like for example:
1) if you were doing Project A & the displayer from Project B needed your immediate input about the layout....what would you do?

2) if you were in the middle of setting up such & such, and Isabelle needed you to do the ---- for ---- what would you do?
Was if like that?

> I told them I made lots of lists and charts to keep track of all jobs I was working on, so that I could look at them and see where I was supposed to be in my work at any given time. While in the past this same explanation has brought positive replies from the interviewers, these people seemed to think it said I was rigid and wouldn't deal with interruptions well. I did the best I could explaining, but sometimes people just decide something and stick with it.

~ ~ ~ Even when I read this post the other day TC, I got the impression that you were giving a general reply to very specific questions. I wonder if they wanted to know, specifically in the cases they cited, exactly how you might deal with that situation? I think this is pretty important to try & give thought to. They called you back, so they're obviously interested in you. If you can 'iron out' this part, it'd be good. Please feel free to be as specific as you want. I'd be glad to try to help you figure it out if you're interested.

> Another problem I had was my mind kept going blank when I was trying to answer questions. This is always a problem for me, and usually gets worse during stressful situations, but this time I felt I didn't handle it as well as I usually do. I've read this is an ADD symptom, and when I was on meds for it, it seemed to get better. My brother has the same problem and so does my Mom. We all have multiple ADD symptoms.

~ ~ ~ I wonder if there's a positive way talking about this? I dunno - maybe even something like smiling at each person as you say 'you know, interviews are my challenge - give me good hard work, even heavy deadlines ANY day!!' then way more smiles.

> So anyway, these are some of the reasons I felt they probably aren't interested in me. They were very, very nice though, and did seem to think I had many good attributes.

~ ~ So you're right - they obviously DO think you have many good attributes. What did they say about the purpose of meeting?

luv, Kath
