I also have "Night" by Elie Wiesel in my to-get-to list. One area that I am going to try to do some research on, next term, as a student Educator is why school curriculums don't include more mandatory humanities and social science courses and material. I read of a survey done earlier this year here in Canada among Grade 9-12 (14-18 year olds) students on questions around history, politics, and current world events, and the correct average was slightly less then 60 percent. I looked up the questions too, and they where quite common ones.
Well, I don't think I have to make any statement about history, forgetting, and repeating itself.Best,
Jay
