In reply to how to type é è ô ç on an us-keyboard ?, posted by sdb on December 24, 2008, at 14:39:51
For a PC:
For é, hold down the alt key and type e, then - no longer holding down the alt key - type e again. For a different letter with the same diacritic mark, such as á, hold down the alt key and type e, then type a. Another example, for ü, hold down the alt key and type u, then type u again. For a different letter, like ö, hold down the alt key and type u, then type o.For a mac, use the option key instead of the alt key.
Try different keys to figure out which letter makes which diacritic mark. Most are with the most common combination, é is alt + e, ü is alt + u, etc. I know theres a list somewhere on the internet, I'm just too tired to research it right now.
I hope this helps!
