> We flew from Kuala Lumpur and landed in this outpost of the empire (not expecting the cold!), a wonderland run by evil wizards, and everything had been preserved....you could smell the coal dust, the buildings had chutes for the coal, though we were too late to see the street lamps being lit by hand which may have continued up to the 60s.~ ~ Sounds sort of surreal. Where is Kuala Lumpar? ('scuse my ignorance in this matter)
The other night I was talking to a friend in Ottawa, who said it was supposed to be -26C overnight. My memory, being what it is - or isn't - I asked my husband if it gets that cold here & he said oh yeah!> I found it hard to breathe.
~ ~ ~ Yes - the cold can do that - I guess especially if it's way colder than what one is used to. I remember walking to school as a kid with a scarf up over my nose - tied at the back to stay like that. And sometimes the moisture from my breath on the scarf would freeze.

What's your temperature like these days?
