OMG that's awful! Was the dude found guilty? His punishment should have been to go through what those poor animals did. Well, maybe that's a bit harsh, but I just really have a problem with people who abuse animals, kids, or the elderly. Some times my anger about those things override my pacifist side.

I hope they work for you!

Have you tried calling the cops and having them towed? It can't be legal to block you in like that. What if you had a life threatening emergency?
I'd definitely speak to the cops about that, and if one doesn't listen, ask for his superior. In fact, before you go to speak to them it wouldn't hurt to look it up online and write down the names and ranks of all the officers in you district.
Then while they are talking to you, write down everything they say down. And be blatant about it - "So Officer Jones, let me make sure I have this is right, you're telling me there is no legal justification to have these cars towed that are blocking my property. And you are also telling me that it is not considered trespassing when these people trample throughout my yard all night, is that correct?" Then if you've gotten nowhere with that one say, "So I see your superior is Sergeant Carter. I would like to speak with him now".
Anyway, that's how I would handle it. I'm a big believer in research and & I'm learning to be just as diligent about writing things down. I WOULD make it a point to always stay cordial though, these people can throw you in jail after all!
>I could have sat out there all evening with a rake or shovel, I guess. I just didn't feel very "Granny Clampett" last night.
Now that I would love to see! (the Granny Clampett image, not beating someone with a shovel).
> 5. Next year, I shall beckon one of the cops that the city sends out and hopefully that would end that problem. I am also going to talk to Fr. Robert again.
I must have missed that part, who's Fr. Robert? Sounds like a monk - Friar Robert.
> The clean-up crew kept the volume turned up until 3:00 a.m.
You poor thing, it just never ends for you! If it makes you feel any better, I'm still contemplating the noise pollution invention.
