LOL, that made quite a funny picture, thanks. It turns out MIL did a lot to help while they were here. Cooking complete meals is a skill I've sort of lost recently, and she helped me stay on task and get everything done on time.

Even more, she cleaned a bunch of hot grease off my floor after I accidentally bobbled a can of it and spilled it all down my throat and chest while trying to put it in the freezer. I don't pour grease down my sink and instead keep it in a can in the freezer til it's full and then throw it in the garbage. This can was very full as it was liquid from the crock pot I used to cook ribs. Full and hot. And I'm a clutz. You probably heard my scream out your way, it was so loud, shrill, and scary. I still can't believe that sound came out of my mouth. Anyway, I stripped off my shirt right there in the kitchen and went upstairs to get under the shower as fast as I could. I'm fine, only 1st degree burns that faded quickly with the help of a little lavender essential oil, thank god. But I'm sure it was quite a mess in the kitchen. She had it all cleaned up by the time I came back downstairs, bless her heart.

Other than that, I spent a lot of time getting both to talk about their families and such, easy topics. Hubby was in avoidance mode as he is not dealing well with his father's dementia, so I was the chief entertainment, cook, janitor, and so on. Still, the visit went much better than I expected, and probably no scars to show from it. :)
