Yippee!
My old vacuum cleaner was a whole different story -- I think I could have gotten more suction if I'd put the hose in my mouth and sucked. An hour of vacuuming, and it still looked as though I never vacuumed at all. The only way to make any real difference was to use a scrub brush to "brush" the carpeting, and then vacuum and hope it got the dust. Go ahead -- ask me how often I did that?
The new Dyson? Whole 'nother story -- I am always skeptical, but it actually lives up to its hype. Not only can you *really* tell that I've vacuumed, but if I vacuum the same area the next day, it's getting even more out of the carpet -- dust and cat hair that's been there for years, thanks to the old vacuum. My carpeting looks better -- still needs to be replaced, but looks so much better than it did.
And, I must say, it improved my mood.
That's over now, by the way. I'm now pretty profoundly depressed. But at least I'm depressed with a great vacuum cleaner.
