i think many of us do that to a degree in public. at least i know i do. i become this smiles and happy person...well, actually i feel i become what THAT person needs (whomever i'm talking to at the time). mostly because i'm sad inside and i've become so accostomed to hiding that. so i take on what i think other people want to see, or what they need.
i think i'm finally starting to get to the point of being a little honest about how i'm feeling. but its still very hard.
and my heart aches for poor Marylin. i think she got abused by so many men in the Hollywood 'system' it was terrible. i think all she really wanted was just to be loved and truly accepted for who she was. and the men (at that time) couldn't handle it.
(no offense to the men here, now)
