So, what's up? Your post above says that you're losing your keys, etc, but I don't know what you need me for?

Here's something I'd like to suggest, though: you have a habit of talking about things "happening to" you, which kinda suggests to me that you don't feel as though you're doing anything that might cause those things to happen. I think GardenerGirl also said something similar in another post to you, over on the Students board. It may sound absurd, but I think if you could write about these things as though you were the agent of the event, you might feel a bit more as though you had control over them. Feeling as though things happen to you, without any control over them through your own actions, can result in feeling awfully helpless. Maybe if you didn't feel quite so helpless, you might start to feel a bit more powerful, a bit more in control. That might, in turn, help with your depression.

I've noticed something else, too. It doesn't always sound as though you quite "get" what I say to you. You quoted me somewhere as saying something which doesn't sound to me like advice I gave you. How about an exercise? Would you repeat back to me, in your own words, what you think I've said to you here? Explain it to me as you understand it. Sometimes that's a good way to check communication -- it's a useful exercise in a lot of situations, in clarifying what is being said, so think of it as a new skill.

I hope that helps. If there's something more you need from me, let me know what it is, and I'll get back to you.
