Could you look at that as, if not black and white thinking, at least a very deep midnight blue and white thinking? Just because you didn't study as much as you wanted on one weekend, does not mean that you're falling back into the same patterns that led you to certain types of behavior in the past.
And even if you were falling back into that pattern, recognizing it allows you to do something about it. You can choose to put in more time this weekend studying, or you can accept that you won't do as well as you might have liked on your exam, or you could look for alternatives open to you which I don't know about.
Here's another thing, something an instructor of mine pointed out to the class recently -- if you're getting an A in the class, you probably don't have to knock yourself out at this point in the semester. She suggested that working hard the first six weeks gives you a little breathing room at this point in the term. (Naw, that one didn't help me, either -- who's satisfied with just an A, right?)
You've come so far, Deneb -- you're the brightest star in the sky, remember? This is a little set-back, not a sign that all that work is about to be undone. In fact, having recognized the beginnings of a pattern of behavior, you are perfectly positioned to show how much progress you've made -- but stopping the cycle, and starting a new pattern of behavior, a healthier, more adaptive coping strategy.
Good luck.
