He was extremely well read from any magazine or newspaper to other books people brought him. Turns out there was a community of people who cared for them perhaps because they weren't the "scary" homeless wo act irratically. If you got to know him, tho, his psychological problems started to come out.

-Thank you for your comments. You mentioned the 'resourcefulness' of homeless people, and it is so true, and also another sad fact that mental illness also plays a part. I don't really believe mental illness = homelessness, but I do believe the government and system is set up so that if you have mental illness, you are greatly at risk for poverty, hence homelessness. It is such a shame that Canada and the U.S. are just an abundance of wealth, and this is allowed to happen. :-(
