I confess to being so slack I have not got round to getting hold of Richard Strauss's...... what was it Lurps? Richard Strauus's double concerto for something or other. I must listen to more classical music before my hearing goes. I like all sorts of stuff from the ultraromantic and easy enough Schubert Symphony #3, actually anything by Schubert. I have The Well Tempered Clavier played by Sviatoslav Richter in my car (what a name and he played at Stalin's funeral) which I listen to for a couple of months and then stop. Now that you mention Bartok, I think Solzhenityn's son was on a music program and he chose some Bartok, perhaps from Bluebeards Castle, if that's what it was called, and I was surprised by how wonderful it was.
